Yoga is a powerful gateway to experience your true essence. There is no thinking. There’s only a deep rooted focus within. In this way, we can respond to difficulty with clarity and conviction.

Hi! We’re Apsara and Varsha Vydyula.

Aham Yoga is our collective endeavour to bring the joy of yoga and mindfulness to to everyone.

What was most exciting about growing up in India, was our immersive experience and early exposure to practices and principles of yoga in everyday life. Our family always encouraged us to seek our own spiritual path. We grew up observing our aunts and grandmothers applying ahimsa practices through diet and lifestyle and uncles and grandfathers loudly practicing kriya cleansing techniques. We still remember our grandfather’s kit full of natural remedies to common health problems like allergies, cuts and bruises to household issues.

We were first introduced to traditional yoga asana practices around the age of five by our mother who applied these practices to sustain her life as a professional dancer, which put a lot of stress on her knees and joints. Our father integrated meditation into his life when he was diagnosed with cancer, and believes that it cured him.

We are grateful for our family, experiences and environment that taught us early on that yoga works. We loved practicing asana but we wanted practitioners to enjoy the different benefits of adopting yoga as a lifestyle. It was clear from personal experience that diet, cleanliness, physical exercise and meditation were mandatory on our list of habits to follow for better health and happiness.

It was during that time that we were introduced to Patanjali’s Yoga sutras. It offers a systemic approach layering a solid foundation to guide our yoga practice.

We are clear about the fact that there is no 'one practice fits all' approach. Every student deserves a practice suitable for their body, lifestyle, and frame of mind. In this way, we are able to adapt this holistic and scientific practice to suit the individual. Everyone can benefit from yoga.

We believe that there is no greater teacher than the one within.
